News that upmarket accommodation group Von Essen Hotels had gone into administration shocked the hospitality industry today.

The private collection of country house hotels includes 28 hotels in the UK and France – three of which are in Gloucestershire, including Lower Slaughter Manor in Lower Slaughter, Washbourne Court in Lower Slaughter, and The Greenway in Cheltenham.

While administrators Ernst & Young have been appointed, and the portfolio of hotels are expected to be sold-off either as a group or as individual properties, the hotels are all expected to continue to trade as usual.
