One of Gloucestershire’s best-loved attractions, Westonbirt Arboretum, will be letting families in on the secret of why trees change colour during the special Autumnal Highlights event scheduled to take place during the school half term.

Plus, there will also be a range of family activities organised over the three days, with something new happening each day, including the chance to have a go at your own tree-inspired art work.

The National Arboretum is one of the most spectacular tree gardens in the world – a historical collection of more than 3,000 different tree and shrub species, including many which are rare or endangered in their native lands.

While it covers a staggering six hundred acres, children and adults attending the event will be given a guided tour of just some of the spectacular Westonbirt trees – dazzlingly beautiful at this time of year, so taking a camera is highly recommended.

For families with children aged four and over getting out into the crisp autumn air and exploring some of Gloucestershire’s best natural beauty is not to be missed.
