The dinosaurs exhibitions is great. My youngest and I are big fans of the series so it was nice to see the models up close...

A week-long celebration of nature will take place at Westonbirt Arboretum once again this summer, when the Festival of the Tree 2010 takes place between Monday 23 and Monday 30 August 2010.

Visitors to Westonbirt from across Gloucestershire and beyond will be able to get involved in a series of displays, workshops, stalls and activities for families during the special week, which has become one of Westonbirt Arboretum’s most popular signature events of the year.

Once again, throughout the eight days, visitors will be able to watch an international team of master carvers transforming around 24 tonnes of sustainably felled Westonbirt wood into intricate artworks in the Sculptree display, culminating in a fundraising auction for the charity Tree Aid.

From Friday 27 August 2010 to Bank Holiday Monday, crafts, furniture, sculpture and jewellery stalls will fill the site for the Exhibitree woodcrafts weekend. With trails, tree team demonstrations and workshops from some of the country’s best craftspeople also on offer.

Plus, little and big ones alike will once again be able to take part family activities throughout the festival, including becoming a scientist for the day in Westonbirt’s ‘Laboratree’ tipi, and what’s more there is free admission for children under 18 until Tuesday 31 August 2010.
