Treefest at Westonbirt Arboretum

Event ended

Westonbirt Arboretum is hosting its annual festival of the tree under the new name of Treefest in 2011, celebrating trees with four days of live music, camping and family fun.

Nature gets a four-day celebration at Westonbirt Arboretum's new Treefest, this summer.

While the annual celebration of trees will still take place at Westonbirt Arboretum this summer, it will be under the new guise of Treefest, taking place between Friday 26 to Monday 29 August 2011.

Described as the ‘best of Westonbirt’s Festival of the Tree with exciting elements including camping and local live music,’ Treefest is set to be an even more popular signature event than ever before in 2011.

Not only will visitors to Westonbirt be able to get involved in a series of woodcraft displays, hands-on workshops, stalls and activities for families during the special festival, but once again they will be able to watch master carvers transform wood into intricate artworks.

The new-look event will include local live music each evening, a Medieval re-enactment, shire horses, puppet shows and falconry displays, not to mention morris dancing, storytelling and a chance to try longbow and archery.

Crafts, furniture and jewellery stalls will also fill the site, with trails, tree team demonstrations and workshops from some of the country’s best craftspeople also on offer.

New for the weekend is the rare opportunity to camp within the grounds of the beautiful National Arboretum, and what’s more, there is free admission for children under 18.
