Richard Felix ghost hunt at Berkeley Castle
Berkeley Castle near Stroud will be celebrating Halloween early this year, with a special ghost hunt in the ancient fortress.
While Berkeley Castle is one of Gloucestershire’s spookiest attractions all year round, on Saturday 17 October 2009 the Norman fortress will play host to whole night of ghoulish activities.
Visitors will be given the rare chance to explore the castle by nightfall – taking in the stunning architecture and eerie paintings illuminated along the way – with an expert guide leading the hunt for ghostly inhabitants, and sharing stories of creepy encounters over the years.
Organisers say they can’t guarantee any supernatural happenings, but previous events at Berkeley Castle have seen plenty of other world involvement – with dormant spirits having been disturbed.
In a particular coup for Berkeley Castle, haunted historian Richard Felix will be returning to Gloucestershire – leading a Q&A session and ghost walks into King Edward II’s famous cell.
There will also be paranormal investigations throughout the night as well as a psychic fayre at what is sure to be one of the best, and scariest, events on the Gloucestershire calendar in the lead up to Halloween.
