Berkeley Castle by Candlelight
Don’t miss the rare chance to explore Berkeley Castle under the glow of candlelight, and meet Santa, during the special festive evening events being held this Christmas.
Berkeley Castle will once again be the setting for the special Castle by Candlelight festive event this Christmas, giving visitors a magical insight into times gone by on Friday 16, Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 December 2011.
In what has become one of Berkeley Castle’s best loved and most popular events, guests will see the stunning Norman castle illuminated by candlelight and flickering fires, with traditional decorations and Christmas greenery throughout.
The Great Hall is expected to be home to a huge Christmas tree and plenty of festive cheer once again – where guests can join in on the carol singing – while younger visitors are sure to enjoy meeting Father Christmas down in his special grotto.
Organisers say the smell of wood smoke, soft candlelight and imagining all the Christmases which Berkeley Castle has been part of over the centuries, make this a truly memorable and magical festive experience for all the family.
Following a walk around Berkeley Castle, visitors will also find seasonal refreshments in the tea rooms – rounding off what is sure to be a perfect evening.
