Slimbridge Christmas Shopping Weekend
Slimbridge Wetland Centre will once again be hosting its annual Christmas Shopping Weekend, with plenty of pressies and festive family activities in 2010.
With a choice of doing battle with heavy bags and huffy shoppers on a packed High Street or taking a relaxed browse at stalls at Slimbridge Wetland Centre’s free Christmas Fair, the latter option is likely to be a huge draw on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 November 2010.
Slimbridge’s two-day festive event is set to be teaming with warming mince pies and mulled wine, unusual gifts, handmade decorations and a range of mouthwatering local festive food and drinks this year. And, as well as the chance to buy everything from toys, soaps, jewellery and artwork, visitors can also stock up on sweets, cider, perry and cakes.
The Wetland Centre’s Christmas Duck will also be making her annual appearance, handing out treats to visitors throughout the day, and there will be themed arts and crafts in the discovery centre, including making Christmas tree decorations, Christmas cards, reindeer masks and snowflakes.
Plus, all ages will also be able to see our famous wild Bewick’s swans at the commentated wild bird feed at 4pm from the comfort of a heated observatory.
And while the Christmas Shopping Fair in the foyer is free for all to enter – don’t forget to bring plenty of pennies, as the stalls aren’t able to take credit cards.
