Sudeley Castle is a Gardeners’ World favourite
News – Sudeley Castle in Winchcombe has been given the thumbs-up by Gardeners’ World readers, who have voted its gardens as one of their top five favourites in the south west.
Sudeley Castle’s 14 acres of historic gardens has been voted in the top 5 favourite gardens to visit in the south west by readers of Gardeners’ World.
More than 6,000 votes were cast by green-fingered voters in the search to find the UK’s most cherished gardens, with the Eden Project coming number one in the region.
Sudeley Castle represented Gloucestershire’s only garden in the vote, alongside Rosemoor in Devon, Trebah Garden in Cornwall, and Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens in Dorset.
Gloucestershire’s gardeners can get an in-depth insight into what makes Sudeley Castle’s grounds so special during the eagerly-anticipated Rose Week 2009, from Monday 8 to Sunday 14 June 2009, when they can take part in a garden tour.
On Monday to Wednesday during Rose Week visitors can meet the Sudeley gardeners at 11am and 2pm, while Thursday to Sunday during Rose Week will see visitors take a historic garden tour, also at 11am and 2pm, taking a closer look at the development of the gardens throughout the centuries.
