Tony Benn will be offering an intimate insight into his rich career at Gloucester Guildhall.

Tony Benn, the longest serving Labour MP in the history of the party, will be discussing his 50 years as an MP in the House of Commons – from when he was elected in 1942 to his retirement in May 2001 – at Gloucester Guldhall’s latest Speakers evening this February.

From being a Cabinet minister in the Wilson and Callaghan governments to being Chairman of the Party in the 70s, Tony Benn’s unique insight into British politics as published in his seven volumes of diaries will be shared with the Gloucester Guildhall audience – who will also get their chance to put their questions to the legendary man himself.

Being hosted at The Guildhall on Wednesday 10 February 2010, this thought-provoking and intimate evening with this charismatic and outspoken icon of British politics is a must for those with an interest in history and his rich career alike.
