Born and bred in the Cotswolds, established local multimedia artist Kate Hopkins will be showing her latest wares at St Nicholas’ Church in Gloucester this summer – in an exhibition which aims to provoke reconsideration of personal and social values and perspectives.

Through 2D, 3D and time-based media, Kate has combined conceptual thinking and classical skills to produce a collection of work intended to re-focus its audience.

The aptly titled Reconsider Exhibition will explore everything from life, death, fate and determinism to love, ambition and beauty, juxtaposed with the experiences of the collection’s unique and incredible subjects.

Having explored the use of composition within portraiture in order to communicate the essence of her subject more succinctly, Kate has created a series of striking works to be shown as part of the exhibition.

The artist has studied various visual art disciplines at the University of Gloucestershire, and her work combines a love of aesthetics with the discussion of sociological issues to produce oil paintings, drawings, animations, sculptures and prints.

With the chance to support a local artist and get a cultural fix in the city centre, this unique exhibition is one for the diary.
