The Wharf House wins CPRE Award
News – Gloucester restaurant and accommodation The Wharf House has scooped an award from the Campaign to Protect Rural England.
Hot on the heels of being awarded an AA Rosette, Gloucester restaurant and accommodation The Wharf House has scooped yet another award win – this time from the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE).
Recognising local projects which are outstanding in their contribution to the environment or the local community, the CPRE has presented The Wharf House with an award for the development work carried out at Over Canal Basin – and are said to have been greatly impressed by the thought and quality of the design demonstrated in the project.
David Penny, The Wharf House’s commercial and technical director, is thrilled with the news: ‘This is the second award we have been presented with this month. For the restoration work to be recognised at the same time as our restaurant’s performance, together with The Canal Trust, we are humbled and encouraged.’
The Wharf House is owned by the Herefordshire and Gloucestershire Canal Trust with all profits being returned to the charity for long-term restoration, maintenance and improvement of the canal.
