Luxury Antiques Weekend at Tortworth Court
Antiques dealers from across the UK will be coming together for the third Luxury Antiques Weekend, held at the magnificent Cotswolds country house hotel Tortworth Court.
Tortworth Court near Wotton-under-Edge will be the setting for the third annual Luxury Antiques Weekend, staged by the Antiques Dealers Fair Limited, taking place over the weekend of Friday 24 to Sunday 26 February 2012.
The weekend is described as a boutique-style fair bringing together 22 antiques dealers from across the UK, predominantly members of The British Antique Dealers’ Association and LAPADA, showcasing an eclectic mix of unusual and decorative antiques and works of art – including contemporary paintings, sculpture and jewellery.
New to the fair this year is Parkside Antiques of Oxfordshire which specialises in early period furniture, as well as a wide variety of collectors’ items, offering a delightful and unusually small Bachelor’s teapot made at the Plymouth factory of William Cookworthy, priced at £3,800.
The majority of previous exhibitors will also be returning to the fair, including St James Authentiques from Manchester bringing statement pieces from Loris Abate, the famous Milanese jewellery designer; T Robert will be offering a charming 1900s turtle brooch with ruby eyes by Liberty & Co for £850; while Plaza will be offering a French 18 carat gold diamond bird brooch for £2,800.
Many of the dealers in attendance regularly exhibit at the top London fairs, and visitors to this weekend event will find an array of antique furniture, 19th century sculptures, carpets and rugs – as well as works by Cotswolds artists.
Plus, the fair will be supporting charity Help for Heroes, and visitors are sure to enjoy the chance to visit the magnificent country house hotel surrounded by 30 acres of private grounds, and an arboretum containing more than 300 rare species.
