Award-winning writer, television and radio presenter, zoologist, wildlife photographer and outspoken conservationist Mark Carwardine is doing a special fundraising talk for the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, getting underway at Slimbridge Wetland Centre this Friday 3 February 2012.

The evening event will see Mark talking about his favourite places in the world to watch wildlife. It will include a personal selection of the wildlife hotspots that have made the greatest impact on him over the years.

Audiences can expect to hear Mark waxing lyrical about everything from jaguar watching in the Pantanal and bat watching in Zambia, to searching for spirit bears in the Great Bear Rainforest to whale watching in his favourite place in the world.

Organisers say that Mark has been to more wildlife destinations than almost anyone else on Earth, so who better to describe the best places to go? What’s more his adventures over the past 30 years are dubbed nothing less than extraordinary; ‘with his self-depreciating humour and well-developed sense of the ridiculous, this will be a highly entertaining evening’.

There will also be the chance to buy a copy of of Mark’s new book Ultimate Wildlife Experiences, which includes a foreword by Stephen Fry, and get it signed. Plus, with plenty of other books and prints on offer at the evening event, don’t forget to take some cash along.
