Nature in Art in Gloucester is the world’s only museum dedicated to art inspired by nature. Displays embrace a diverse range of mediums and styles, with the collection spanning 1,500 years and including work by 600 artists from over 50 countries.

As well as temporary exhibitions, visitors can typically see everything from watercolour landscapes, contemporary glass, the Flemish masters, modern abstract interpretations, bronze sculpture and even exotic oriental treasures.

Visitors can also watch an array of artists at work, demonstrating everything from painting to woodcarving. There is at least one different artist in residence each week from February to November.

Plus, there’s a sculpture garden, a coffee shop, children’s indoor and outdoor activity areas, a gift shop and free parking. Nature in Art also offers a varied programme of art courses, children’s holiday activity sessions and special events throughout the year.

Reading about the wildlife photography exhibition tempted me into my first visit to Nature in Art, but it most certainly won't be my last now that I have seen the wealth of displays that are there. My next visit will probably be on a dry day though, so I can explore the artwork in the expansive garden - if we get a dry day that is! 5 February 2008

I am a self-confessed nature lover, so Nature in Art is not just my idea of the perfect place to spend the day, but 'the only museum dedicated to nature' in the whole of the UK is just a few miles away from my home... how lucky am I! If you live in Gloucestershire or are planning to visit the county, you seriously shouldn't miss an opportunity to go here. I always find something new to interest me and the changing exhibitions are certainly worth coming back for. 21 January 2008
