Displays embrace a diverse range of mediums and styles, with the collection spanning 1,500 years and including work by 600 artists from over 50 countries. As well as temporary exhibitions, visitors can typically see everything from watercolour landscapes, contemporary glass, the Flemish masters, modern abstract interpretations, bronze sculpture and even exotic oriental treasures. Visitors can also watch an array of artists at work, demonstrating everything from painting to woodcarving. There is at least one different artist in residence each week from February to November. Plus, there’s a sculpture garden, a coffee shop, children’s indoor and outdoor activity areas, a gift shop and free parking. Nature in Art also offers a varied programme of art courses, children’s holiday activity sessions and special events throughout the year.
