Prinknash Bird and Deer Park is set in a picturesque wooded valley and boasts a wonderful collection of waterfowl, crowned cranes, black swans and 50 peacocks, as well as beautifully-coloured pheasants which can be seen darting about in the woods.

Visitors can also expect to find trout thrashing about in the Monks’ Fishpond, pygmy goats providing plenty of amusement and both tame and wild fallow deer at home in the park – with the opportunity to walk amongst the animals proving irresistible for little and big kids alike.

Children are sure to enjoy letting their imagination run wild in the great outdoors, whilst adults can enjoy the scenery at their own pace – including the magnificent two-storey Tudor Wendy House by the lake.

I've always enjoyed taking my grandkids to Prinknash - it is, as you say, a chance for them to run wild and get some fresh air in the countryside. I was under the impression the bird park had closed down though... now that I know it hasn't, I'll be packing the children in the car for a day out again soon! 22 May 2008

Prinknash is home to a wonderful array of pheasants, including exotic varieties with dazzling coats of feathers.	Children are sure to love this popular family attraction - with plenty of opportunity to get close to the park's animals.	The two-storey Tudor Wendy House overlooking the lake is a relaxing spot from which to enjoy nature at its best.
