Snowshill Manor near Broadway falls just inside the Gloucestershire border and is a traditional golden-yellow Cotswold manor house boasting a stunning collection of craftsmanship and design from across the globe.

The National Trust manor and gardens is the home of the life’s work of eccentric architect, artist and craftsman Charles Paget Wade, who amassed a collection of over 22,000 fascinating objects in his lifetime and created an ‘Aladdin’s Cave’ of unexpected delights.

While Wade preferred to live in the ancient cottage next door, he used Snowshill Manor to entertain friends including John Betjeman, Graham Greene, J.B. Priestly and Virginia Woolf.

Outside, Wade created a terraced hillside garden arranged as a series of ‘outdoor rooms’, each with their own character. Visitors can expect to be fascinated by the story of the man and his collection, enjoy ambling through the garden, treating themselves in the shop or sampling one of Snowshill Manor’s legendary cream teas.
