Stroud-based actor Keith Allen – and father to pop sensation Lily – will be taking to the stand as resident auctioneer for a special promises action being held in aid of the Haiti appeal, at The Prince Albert in Stroud.

‘Keith comes here often and is a good friend of ours, and we’re pleased he’s agreed to be our auctioneer,’ said Miles Connolly from the pub.

Taking place at the popular community pub on Tuesday 9 February 2010, the event will see a wealth of items auctioned off in aid of the victims of Haiti’s earthquake which struck the Caribbean county last month.

While organisers were still on the lookout for promises to be auctioned off at the event at the time of writing, items already pledged include a dinner for two at The Bear of Rodborough, a tour of Gloucester Cathedral and a trip in a Land Rover.

There will also be entertainment from acclaimed blues, jazz and R‘n’B performers Professor Nohair and the Wiglifters.
