Real ale lovers from across Gloucestershire and beyond will be escaping the cold climes to whet their whistles this February, for the anticipated 2012 Tewkesbury Winter Ale Festival.

Taking place on Thursday 2 (for CAMRA members only), Friday 3 and Saturday 4 February 2012, the annual event is organised by the Tewkesbury branch of CAMRA and will take place at The Watson Hall.

Some of the choice of local tipples in 2012 include Cotswold Spring’s Guv’nor, Freeminers’ Slaughter Porter, Gloucester Brewing Co.’s Dockside Dark, Severn Vale’s Severn Sins, Stroud’s Ding Dong Porter, Uley’s Pigor Mortis and Whittington’s A Winters Tail.

A selection of stouts, porters, strong bitters and speciality beers from some of Britain’s finest craft brewers are also available from across the country.

Plus, if previous years is anything to go by, there is also likely to be locally-sourced food, free soft drinks for designated drivers, and buses 41, 42, 43 and 71 passing by the venue for festival-goers’ convenience.
