The Yew Tree Inn wins Wine Pub of the Year

News – Reputed Newent pub The Yew Tree Inn has scooped a coveted win and a finalist nomination for Wine Pub of the Year, in two national awards.

While Clifford’s Mesne country pub The Yew Tree Inn enjoys a reputation as one of Gloucestershire’s finest watering holes, the popular venue has hit 2010 with a bang – winning Wine Pub of the Year in the 2010 Good Pub Guide Awards, and being named a finalist in the Drinking Out Excellence Awards 2010.

Every year The Good Pub Guide picks out the top winners from the country’s thousand or so very best pubs, with The Yew Tree Inn nabbing top prize for Wine Pub of the Year in 2010.

‘Unusual dining pub nicely tucked away on the slopes of May Hill. A back room is charmingly laid out as an informal wine shop, with a good range that is fairly priced’, was how the guide described The Yew Tree Inn.

Organised in association with Harpers, the Drinking Out Excellence Awards 2010 also recognised The Yew Tree Inn by way of a finalist nomination for Wine Pub of the Year. Flying the flag for Gloucestershire, the pub was one of only a handful of venues outside of London to be nominated in the awards.
