Hotel du Vin’s elegant Bar in Cheltenham’s Montpellier offers the perfect location to unwind and socialise in stylish surrounds.

The Bar has an extensive and eclectic wine list, well-stocked collection of spirits, and selection of cocktails to savour whilst lounging on the leather sofas.

Tea, coffee and fresh pastries are served from 8am to 12pm, and a modern bar menu including vibrant dishes such as confit chicken with spicy mango salsa, char grilled steak sour dough baguette with red onions and rocket, and chocolate brownies are served until 6pm. Plus, there is a purpose-built Cigar Shack for smokers.

The air was positively buzzing with electricity during the Jazz festival jam I was lucky enough to go to during the festivities. Whiskey on the rocks and the sound of live jazz simply can't be beat, and I will be returning again next year for sure. 8 May 2009
