Meet Samantha Weinberg at Calcot Manor

Event ended

12 May – Author Samantha Weinberg will be discussing her super successful series, The Moneypenny Diaries, at Calcot Manor’s Meet-the-Author lunch in the Cotswolds, this May.

The affairs and adventures of James Bond’s right-hand woman are set to come under the spotlight at Calcot Manor this May, as guests at the Cotswold hotel’s monthly Meet-the-Author lunch will be hearing from Samantha Weinberg – the brains behind The Moneypenny Diaries series of novels.

May’s lunch looks back at the mid-1960s when the British secret intelligence service is hit by a series of defection scandals. Facing considerable personal danger, Jane Moneypenny combines forces with 007 to try to smoke out a mole that she is convinced is buried deep in the heart of the Office. But as Bond is sacked and M forced into retirement, Moneypenny may have to find him alone.

Forty-two years later, Miss Moneypenny’s niece and heir, Kate Westbrook, starts to suspect that her aunt’s death was no accident. She is sure the clues to what happened lie in the search for the mole. But as she pieces them together, she realises that there are significant forces determined to prevent her.

Samantha Weinberg, frustrated spy and author of the best-selling series of Miss Moneypenny titles, will be answering questions from the floor and signing copies of her newest book, The Moneypenny Diaries – Final Fling at the event. Calcot Manor’s Meet-the-Author lunches start at 12pm, with tickets priced at £25 per person including a two course meal and a glass of wine.
