Will Self at Gloucester Guildhall
Seize the opportunity to quiz one of British writing’s most original minds, when Will Self arrives at Gloucester Guildhall for Speakers.
Sardonic writer Will Self will be bringing his infamous wit to Gloucester for the Guildhall’s very next Speakers event on Thursday 4 November 2010.
A familiar figure to many, Will Self is renowned for his droll New Statesman columns, his appearances on Have I Got News for You and as team captain on Shooting Stars, as well as his five novels and four collections short stories, of course.
Portrayed as ‘Britain’s leading satirical writer’ by organisers, Self will be at The Guildhall to talk about latest book Walking to Hollywood, a severe take on celebrity which was published by Bloomsbury in September.
Describe as an ‘extraordinary triptych in which Self burrows down through the intersections of time, place and psyche to explore some of our deepest fears and anxieties with his characteristic fearlessness and edgy humour,’ fans and critics of his work alike will get the chance to pose their questions at what promises to be a lively and popular event.
