Enchanted Christmas at Westonbirt

Go walking in a winter wonderland at Westonbirt Arboretum’s Enchanted Christmas, promising a festive family feast of lights, trails, treats and more.

Favourite destination Westonbirt Arboretum will be once again welcoming Gloucestershire families to celebrate an Enchanted Christmas at its signature winter event, taking place every Friday to Sunday evening from Friday 29 November to Sunday 22 December 2013.

All ages can take in the majestic beauty of the towering trees lit by thousands of festive lights that line the famous one-mile illuminated trail through the National Arboretum, with a new route created for 2013 taking in different specimens, paths and vistas in the tree collection.

There’s usually the chance to meet real life reindeer and old Saint Nick himself at the big switch-on event each year, while visitors big and small on other dates will find Father Christmas ho, ho, ho-ing and dressed in his traditional green costume too.

There’s also expected to be family craft activities scheduled, Christmas gifts on sale and delicious outdoor refreshments available, with traditional merry-go-round rides keeping the little ones busy, not to mention festive music coming from the choir and carol evenings throughout the winter events. Details of these are yet to be confirmed.

For a festive family outing that guarantees to kick-start your Christmas cheer, don’t miss your chance to celebrate at one of the seven wonders of the Cotswolds, boasting one of the most spectacular arboretums in the world.

See the Gloucestershire Christmas events guide for more festive events in the county.
