The Gloucester Carnival marks its 80th anniversary with a 'celebrate' theme, street procession and summer music concert at Gloucester Park, as part of the SoMAC festivities.

Marking the 80th anniversary of the annual event, the Gloucester Carnival will have a ‘celebrate’ theme on Saturday 23 July 2016 – celebrating everything that’s great about the city and culminating in a free music concert at Gloucester Park.

The Gloucester Carnival procession will be abuzz with floats and entertainers, leaving Westgate Car Park at 3.30pm and expecting to arrive at Gloucester Park around 4.30pm; with the route weaving along Westgate Street; The Cross; Eastgate Street and Trier Way.

As well as food and drink, and Bob Wilson’s Family Funfair, Gloucester Park will host the Gloucester Carnival Music Stage – with live entertainment including a GDance production of Lost and Found at 2pm and 4pm; Hired Guns at 6pm; Quigley at 7.15pm; First Degree Burns at 9pm and DJ sets from DJ Action Jackson and DJ Juicy.

The Gloucester Carnival is taking place as part of this summer’s SoMAC Festival.
