If you go down to the Cathedral today, you’re sure of a big surprise. Or in this case, if you go down to the Cathedral on Wednesday 6 June 2012, you’re sure to have a great day with the family at its Diamond Jubilee Teddy Bears’ picnic.
To commemorate Queen Elizabeth’s coronation, Gloucester Cathedral will be inviting local children to bring along their favourite teddies to join monk bear, bishop bear, king bear, Paddington, Pooh and friends, at its free family fun day.
As well as the Spot the Bear teddy trail challenge, the kids are sure to enjoy the host of crafts lined up in the Chapter House, which include making teddy-shaped sandwiches, getting creative with collage and stained glass bears, and much more.
So pack up a picnic, which families are welcome to enjoy in the grounds, and head down to one of Gloucester’s most beautiful attractions to spend the half term holiday celebrating our monarch’s reign in true British style.
