Kids go free at Westonbirt Arboretum

Little ones go free at popular family destination Westonbirt Arboretum this summer.

One of the county’s most popular family attractions, Westonbirt Arboretum, is hoping to come to the rescue of parents and grandparents across Gloucestershire this summer, by offering free entry for kids from Saturday 20 July to Sunday 1 September 2013.

Home to one of the most spectacular tree gardens in the world and covering 600 acres of Victorian picturesque landscape, The National Arboretum hosts a jam-packed calendar of family-friendly special events throughout the year, including guided walks, trails and an array of creative workshops.

Offering a sprawling, natural playground, kids can become adventurers for the day, clambering over logs and building dens along the natural play trails throughout the Old Arboretum and Silk Wood, and let their curiosity run wild in the under five’s Exploratree play area, which will see them crawling through giant tree trunk tunnels and swinging in leafy hammocks.

Plus, there’s also the chance to take part in a whole host of summer-inspired workshops, including Forest Folk for curious and creative nippers; Tree Potions for budding botanists; Trees for Time Travellers for history-loving little ones; and Wooden Wonders, ideal for kids who aspire to master the ancient art of woodcraft.

Tickets to Westonbirt Arboretum cost £8 for adults, £7 for concessions and usually £3 for children – with the kids go free offer sure to appeal to cash conscious family fun seekers this summer.
