GWR Santa Specials 2008

6 to 24 December – Travel by steam train from Toddington to Winchcombe station and visit Santa and his helpers in the Christmas grotto, with GWR’s Santa Specials.

Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway’s team of volunteer elves have been hard at work to give well-behaved boys and girls a special Christmas treat on their Santa Special steam trains this December.

From Saturday 6 December until Christmas Eve, Santa will take up residency in his Christmas grotto railway carriage in Winchcombe station where he will await the arrival of packed steam trains of excited youngsters coming from Toddington station.

Children of all ages will then be able to meet Father Christmas and collect a rather special present from him, while parents can tuck into mince pies and warm drinks – making for a festive family day out to remember.

Organisers promise everyone gets to see Santa and each child will receive a present. With tickets being snapped-up fast for what is one of Gloucestershire’s finest festive events, don’t delay in booking.

Dates: Saturday 6, Sunday 7, Saturday 13, Sunday 14, Saturday 20, Sunday 21, Monday 22, Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 December 2008.
Times: Departures from Toddington take place at 10.15am, 11.45am, 1.30pm, 3pm and also at 4.30pm on selected dates. Call to confirm train times when booking.
