Poo and Paws Trail at Snowshill Manor
1 June – Forming part of the National Trust’s Hidden Nature week, Snowshill Manor will be welcoming young animal lovers from across Gloucestershire for the special Poo and Paws Trail event.
If your little ones have ever wondered what a badger poo looks like, how big a fox’s paw print might be or how many spines a hedgehog might have – Snowshill Manor will be revealing all during the special Poo and Paws Trail – forming part of the National Trust’s nationwide Hidden Nature week.
Curious children will be invited to take a tour around Snowshill Manor’s hillside garden over the school half term from Wednesday 28 May to Sunday 1 June inclusive – learning fascinating facts about the animals and birds which only come out at night, thanks to their dropping and prints which are left behind.
The trail will feature bat droppings, owl pellets, deer poo, badger prints and much more – with Kathy Haynes from Snowshill putting her expert modelling skills to excellent use in making replicas of the original poos – so parents have no need to worry about what their kids are taking a closer look at.
In the same week Snowshill Manor will also be welcoming the instalment of a specially-commissioned illustration by renowned wildlife artist Liz Pepperell – inspired by old Ladybird books and depicting the wildlife at Snowshill in spectacular details, right down to individual blades of grass and caterpillars.
