Forest Fun Festival
The Forest Fun Festival 2010 will be providing families with a jam-packed, and free, day in the Forest of Dean for the third year in a row.
The third annual Forest Fun Festival will be taking place on Saturday 7 August 2010, offering families from across the Forest of Dean and beyond a day packed full of plenty of activities. And the best bit? It’s absolutely free.
Being held at Beechenhurst picnic site between 10am and 4pm, small and big kids alike will find a myriad of ways to while away the hours.
For the active and adventurous there’s an obstacle course for bikes, as well as BattleSports which is a cross between laser tag and paintball. Sporty types can get involved in anything from bungee volleyball in an inflatable arena to fencing, with sports day races including the egg and spoon and sack races.
For budding performers there are drama workshops; circus skills to master including having a go at diabolo, juggling and static trapeze; as well as a dance mat arena with a dance off competition and lively disco; while African drumming workshops will be held for the musically minded.
Crafty visitors can make create woodland sculptures from forest found materials, make mud pictures, Origami birds and pottery; take part in a treasure hunt with the Forestry Commission; or use surrounding material to build a den in the forest.
