Victorian Christmas in Cheltenham
Cheltenham Art Gallery and Museum will be celebrating Christmas Victorian-style for one family-friendly day this December.
Visitors of all ages at Cheltenham Art Gallery and Museum on Saturday 5 December 2009 will be able to take a trip back in time to see how the Victorians celebrated Christmas.
Famed as the era that introduced the ubiquitous Christmas tree to the UK’s festivities, visitors can see the Art Gallery and Museum’s very own Victorian tree, as well as examples of gifts from the past which will be on display.
Plus, there’s a chance to get crafty with free sessions for children of all ages to make their own Victorian-inspired greetings cards, under the guidance of a Christmas craft expert.
Organisers say, children are also invited to come dressed in a Victorian-style costume to add to the fun of teh special festive day.
