Fiesta Day at Pittville Park
4 July – Samba, circus workshops and world food will be at Pittville Park in Cheltenham this weekend for a fun and free Fiesta Day for families from across Gloucestershire.
The very first Fiesta Day will be arriving at Pittville Park in Cheltenham on Saturday 4 July 2009, for a celebration of diversity and some fun for all the family that won’t cost a penny.
A lively procession led by Cleeve School’s samba band will start the event in style, starting at 1pm from Central Cross Drive before making its way through the park to Pittville Pump Room.
Afternoon entertainment will also include Chinese lion dancers, mirage belly dancers, street entertainers and circus performers, as well as a display by Coady Crew.
Families can try their hands at everything from DJing and salsa in a workshop, with a children’s village, stalls and stands; and food from different parts of the world also on offer.
In association with Cheltenham Music Festival 2009, there will be choirs, a jazz band and a gamelan concert all being performed at Pittville Pump Room, with a host of bands playing live at the end of the event.
