The dinosaurs exhibitions is great. My youngest and I are big fans of the series so it was nice to see the models up close...

Children's Half Term Activities at Nature in Art

Event ended

Keep the children entertained this Gloucestershire school half term break, with Nature in Art’s special arts and crafts sessions.

Children will find a host of activites on offer at Nature in Art this week.
Children will find a host of activites on offer at Nature in Art this week.

Devised to tackle half term boredom, and give parents a welcome break, Gloucester’s Nature in Art will be playing host to three special activities this week – with two sessions on each day.

On Tuesday 16 February 2010 the Beautiful Bowls event will give children of any age the chance to make a stunning bowl from paper and glue. Organisers promise that once dry the bowl will be strong enough to put most objects in, but look very delicate as it lets the light through.

On Wednesday 17 February 2010 children of all ages will be able to take a look at Nature in Art’s photography exhibition before venturing out in the gardens to take their own photos – in the event entitled Canvas Photos. There will then be the chance to learn how to transfer pictures onto a canvas, which can be taken home and given pride of place on the wall.

Last but not least, on Friday 19 February 2010 children aged 8 and above can take part in the Encaustic Art event with artist Elaine Jones. There will be the chance to create vibrant pictures using coloured beeswax and a small electric iron. Children will be shown how to make them into cards, or frame them for display.

Sessions take place at 10.30am to 12.30pm or 2.30pm to 4.30pm, children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult and booking ahead is essential.
