The dinosaurs exhibitions is great. My youngest and I are big fans of the series so it was nice to see the models up close...

There are two chances to see The Railway Children at Wotton Electric Picture House this Easter.

The family classic The Railway Children has been digitally-restored to celebrate its 40 year anniversary, and can be seen in its full glory on Wotton Electric Picture House just in time for the Easter holidays.

On nationwide release this Easter, families can see the film version of ES Nesbit’s magical tale on the Picture House’s screen in Wotton-under-Edge on Friday 2 and Wednesday 7 April 2010 at 2pm.

The plot sees Bobbie, Phyllis and Peter’s father mysteriously taken away by the police one night, before the children move to the country with their mother to start a new, more modest life – where they play on the local railway.

The children befriend the station porter Mr. Perks and the Old Gentleman, they prevent a derailment and also save an injured runner – all whilst awaiting the return of their father.

Parents and grandparents across Gloucestershire will know that the film directed by Lionel Jeffries stars Jenny Agutter and Bernard Cribbins in a tale that has inspired children since its release in 1970. Fully restored, the timeless film is now set to inspire a new generation of children.
