Do Stuff in the Park
The free and unquestionably fun Do Stuff family day returns to Gloucester Park in 2010.
Described as one of the biggest events of its kind in the south west, the free family fun day Do Stuff returns to Gloucester Park as one of the Summer in Gloucester signature events.
Being held on Sunday 25 July 2010, families from across the county will be flocking to Gloucester to get stuck into a host of hands-on free activities including arts and crafts and sports challenges.
There is also set to be shows to entertain the nippers, live music and walkabout performers, as well as a selection of farm animals Old MacDonald would be proud of.
Organisers say a big highlight of the day will be the hour-long performance of award-winning street show The Station at 3pm. Performed by the Bash Street Theatre Company, the show is an action-packed silent comedy filled with thrills, spills, stunts and lots of laughs for all ages.
The event will also provide the first opportunity to show off the park’s fantastic new bandstand, with the official opening of the new structure at 1pm by the Mayor of Gloucester, Councillor Janet Lugg, followed by a performance from the Nailsworth Silver Band.
Mhairi Smith, a spokesperson for the organisers marketing gloucester ltd, said: ‘The family fun day is a really popular event because there are so many different things for youngsters and grown-ups to enjoy and virtually everything is free.’
