Duck racing at Gloucester Docks

Event ended

Place your bets on the best plastic duck and you could win prizes at Gloucester Docks.

Hundreds of duck will be racing at Gloucester Docks.
Hundreds of duck will be racing at Gloucester Docks.

Up to 200 ducks will be raced each day at Gloucester Docks on Monday 30 and Tuesday 31 August 2010, to raise funds for the National Waterways Museum’s steam dredger.

Organised by the Friends of the National Waterways Museum, tickets cost £1 for each duck, with the chance to win prizes of £30, £20 and £10 for the ducks coming first, second and third respectively during the five races held each day.

While it won’t be a case of first past the post, but which duck is closest to a bullseye on the quay, as well as raising funds for a worthwhile cause, the frankly ‘quackers’ event promises to be good wholesome fun for all the family too.
