Summer holidays at Cotswold Wildlife Park
Cotswold Wildlife Park is an exceptionally popular day out destination for families from across Gloucestershire, with the summer holidays promising a particularly good time for animal lovers.
Lions, rhinos, snakes, crocodiles, penguins and 250 different species of animals, insects and birds call Cotswold Wildlife Park home, and situated just over the county borders in Burford, it’s no surprise that it has become one of Gloucestershire families’ most popular day out destinations.
From taking a ride on the railway around the park to climbing in the tree house in the adventure playground, children will find lots to do amongst Cotswold Wildlife Park’s 160 acres throughout the year – but, during the summer holidays, things really heat up.
Being held to celebrate the launch of the final Harry Potter film, Wizard Animal Week from Friday 22 to Sunday 31 July 2011 will give visitors the chance to discover whether owls can carry letters and whether snakes really do talk parseltongue.
During August, the alphabet-themed ‘A is for…’ event, will see visitors hunt for clues around the park. Promising a fantastic prize every week for the first correct entry out the bag, the event encourages kids to think and learn lots about the animals they encounter.
Plus, throughout August the zookeepers will be hosting Ice cool animals every Wednesday; every Sunday in August, there will be special reptile awareness sessions; not to mention birds of prey demonstrations on all August weekends and bank holidays.
