Tartuffe at the Open Air Theatre Festival promises to be a summer highlight for theatregoers across Gloucestershire.

SoGlos.com readers can win one of three pairs of tickets to see Molière’s satirical comedy Tartuffe performed with fresh vigour, plenty of energy, original music and big wigs galore at the Open Air Theatre Festival this summer.

Performed by Miracle Theatre, the one-night-only alfresco performance will be taking place at The Tuckwell Amphitheatre in Cheltenham on Saturday 25 July 2009 – celebrating the acclaimed theatre company’s 30-year-anniversary.

Adapted and directed by Bill Scott with music by BragaTanga using a brand new translation, the organisers say: ‘Miracle applies its talent for satire, farce and physical theatre to Molière’s sharpest comedy, which is as fresh and provoking today as when it was banned in 1664.’

When a wealthy man starts treating a homeless vagrant as his guru and lifestyle guide, it triggers alarm bells amongst his offspring, driving them to take drastic action to protect their inheritance. But will the devious Tartuffe, be one step ahead of them? Audiences at the Open Air Theatre Festival will soon be able to find out.

Read Open Air Theatre Festival 2009 for more information about this performance, and the others scheduled, at this summer’s unmissable Cheltenham festival.

Tickets to see Tarftuffe cost £12, or £10 for concessions, available to book in advance from the Bacon Theatre box office on (01242) 258002 or by visiting bacontheatre.co.uk directly.
