Favourite destination Westonbirt Arboretum will be once again welcoming Gloucestershire families to celebrate an Enchanted Christmas at its signature winter event, taking place every Friday to Sunday evening from Friday 30 November to Sunday 23 December 2012.
All ages can take in the majestic beauty of the towering trees lit by thousands of eco-friendly festive lights that line the famous one-mile illuminated trail through the National Arboretum, with a new route created for 2012 taking in different specimens, paths and vistas in the tree collection – not to mention a floating candle tree and the chance to create a sound and light symphony.
There’s the chance to meet real life reindeer and old Saint Nick himself at the big switch-on event starting at 5pm on Friday 30 November 2012, while visitors big and small on the other dates will find Father Christmas ho, ho, ho-ing and dressed in his traditional green costume too.
There are family craft activities scheduled, Christmas gifts on sale and delicious outdoor refreshments promised, with traditional merry-go-round rides as well, not to mention festive music coming from the choir and carol evenings throughout the winter events.
For a festive family outing that guarantees to kick-start your Christmas cheer, don’t miss your chance to celebrate at one of the seven wonders of the Cotswolds, boasting one of the most spectacular arboretums in the world.
