Marvel at the Olympic-inspired works from sculptors, photographers and artists that will feature in New Brewery Arts’ Physicality exhibition.

To celebrate this summer’s Olympics, local and national artists have teamed up with New Brewery Arts to showcase a Physicality exhibition – inspired by the human body and the perfectly-honed physical specimens we will be championing during the Games.

The result is an eclectic mix of perfection and imperfection, the practical and impractical, and the humourous and serious, according to organisers, and will be on show in Cirencester from Saturday 5 May 2012 to Sunday 1 July 2012.

Visitors can look forward to seeing sculptures from the likes of Ann Goodfellow and Carol Peace, ceramics from Jitka Palmer and Jenny Alexander, and wire sculptures from Clare Know-Bentham.

The highlight of the exhibition is expected to come from the internationally-acclaimed sculptor Anthony Abrahams, who is known for his figurative work with qualities reminiscent of primitive cultures, as well as his expressive female figures.

Abrahams is a regular exhibitor at the Gallery Pangolin, which is working in partnership with New Brewery Arts on this particular exhibition.

What’s more, there will be prints, photography, fine art, mixed media and jewellery examples on show throughout the exhibition.

Please note, the dates listed below apply to the opening fortnight of this exhibition only. Full dates for this exhibition are Saturday 5 May 2012 to Sunday 1 July 2012.
