Enjoy a series of talks from experts on the life of Queen Katherine Parr, plus a delicious summer’s lunch at Sudeley Castle and Gardens.

Budding historians across Gloucestershire will enjoy Sudeley Castle and Gardens’ sophisticated Literary Lunch Day, set to take place on Monday 11 June 2012 – forming part of its Queen Katherine Parr Quincentenary Festival.

Hear a series of talks discussing the life of the last wife of Henry VIII, from notable historians, authors and lecturers Tim Porter, Linda Porter, Susan James and Janel Mueller. What’s more, there will be a summer’s lunch laid out to satisfy the appetites of those in attendance.

Tim Porter is a well-known lecturer who specialises in the middle ages, and is hoping to impress the Sudeley Castle audience with not only his knowledge, but also his ability to make lively connections and bring a subject to light.

Following Tim will be historian Linda Porter, author of the biography Katherine the Queen: The Remarkable Life of Katherine Parr. Linda is considered to be an expert in the life of the monarch and the book is said to paint a memorable portrait of her dramatic life.

Finishing up the literary feast will be talks from Susan James, author of Catherine Parr: Henry VIII’s Last Love, and Janel Mueller, author of Katherine Parr: Complete Works and Correspondence – which has been dubbed a major contribution to 16th century studies.
