Think you know your Monet from your Matisse? If you, like thousands of art connoisseurs across the country, are looking for some inspiration or a new piece to hang above the fireplace, then look no further than Cheltenham’s Art in the Park exhibition.
Now in its 44th year and taking place in the town’s quaint Imperial Gardens, the exhibition will be open daily from Saturday 22 June to Sunday 21 July 2013, showcasing a range of work from more than 100 local painters – with Cheltenham MP Martin Horwood set to cut the ribbon at 10am on Saturday 22 June 2013.
Organised and run by the artists themselves, Art in the Park has become increasingly popular with collectors and art enthusiasts alike, not least because visitors can expect to pay half the price for a masterpiece than they would in a gallery, due to the difference in overhead costs.
There will be bags of talent and style on display, comprising oils, watercolours, pastels, pencils and acrylics, and a new seating area in front of the open air bar promises the perfect place for visitors to relax and enjoy a peaceful drink, whilst taking in the spectrum of works.
Organisers say that local artists wishing to take part in Art in the Park should consult the website and list of rules and regulations, before applying using the contact details below.
