Best-selling novelist Joanna Trollope will be treating a Parabola Arts Centre audience to an insight into her life and works on Sunday 30 September 2012, with the man behind the Cheltenham Festival, Edward Gillespie, taking to the stage as host for the evening.
Fans of upmarket romance and drama novels will no doubt have come across a number of Joanna Trollope’s works, including bestsellers A Village Affair, The Choir and The Rector’s Wife , and the Minchinhampton-born author not only chaired this year’s prestigious Orange Prize for Fiction but was also appointed OBE in 1996 – firmly cementing her place as one of the UK’s greatest modern writers.
The event, which has been organised to raise money for the Cheltenham Art Gallery and Museum, will see Edward Gillespie delve into the world of Joanna Trollope, spanning her work, life and inspirations, and promises to be a fascinating evening for budding authors and bookworms alike.
Gillespie has been hailed as ‘the man who transformed the Cheltenham Festival’, and following 100 successful festival days, not to mention making the Gold Cup the most famous and best-loved jump race of the season, announced his intention to step down from the role of Cheltenham Racecourse MD in April this year, and instead devote his time to local projects.
What’s more, VIP tickets are available for the event, which includes a reception with Trollope and Gillespie, so don’t delay in booking what’s expected to be a major highlight on the local literary calendar.
