Hawkwood College is an independent adult education centre offering a year-round calendar of events and courses in a beautiful setting in the heart of the Cotswolds.
Situated in a grade II listed country house near Stroud, Hawkwood is a registered charity that was founded in 1948 to promote philosopher, Rudolf Steiner’s, creative and spiritual approach to teaching.
Since then the college has diversified to offer students a varied programme of educational courses spanning the arts, music, health and wellbeing, dance, spirituality, nature and sustainability, while retaining its original values at its core.
The estate, surrounded by 42 acres of land and with stunning views overlooking the Severn Vale, provides a peaceful backdrop to relax, explore and learn, with the Woodland Sanctuary ideal for those looking for somewhere quiet and still to reflect.
The college, which aims to maintain an ethical and sustainable approach to its work, can be hired for courses, meetings, away days, corporate events and seminars.
With 30 bedrooms there is plenty of space for residential guests, while its catering is seasonal, locally sourced and organic where possible.
The magnificent grounds encompass a Victorian half-walled garden, which grows fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers that are used in the house; an award-winning pond and wetlands system; and an impressive sycamore, which sits beside the constantly flowing Hawkwood spring.
