Gloucester Film Society screenings

The Gloucester Film Society’s 2010 screenings at the Gloucester Guildhall are guaranteed to offer film fans something that takes their fancy once a fortnight.

Spirited Away will be on Gloucester Film Society's big screen.

The Gloucester Film Society – the president of which is none other than Gloucester-born actor, writer and film star Simon Pegg – will be hosting a catalogue of classic cinema and modern movies every fortnight at the Gloucester Guildhall during the 2010 season.

The titles making the final cut in the society’s 57th season have been selected by members and span a range of countries and periods, including cinematic classics to more recent titles you might have missed first time around.

Running until March 2010, anyone with a passion for good films is welcome to attend. The film society is made-up of a sociable bunch of film lovers with plenty of opportunities to chew the fat in the Guildhall’s bar after each screening.

L’Ennui

Tuesday 9 March 2010

The French adaptation of Alberto Maravia’s novel sees a bored academic compelled by a teenager in this darkly funny and erotic drama.

The Pope’s Toilet

Tuesday 23 March 2010

This Film Society favourite sees a small Uruguayan village erupt with excitement, and money-making strategies, when it is announced the Pope has chosen to visit them in this heartbreaking yet inspiring film.
