Free films for students at Gloucester Guildhall

Ends Wednesday 31 October 2012

Students can watch free films at Gloucester Guildhall cinema throughout October when they present a valid form of student ID at the box office.

Gloucestershire students can forget Orange Wednesdays and LOVEFiLM because throughout the whole of October 2012, they can watch every single film screened at Gloucester Guildhall absolutely free.

From the hilarious Brit flick A Few Best Ben and blockbuster re-make of classic The Sweeney, to the Depression-era gangster move Lawless starring Shia LeBeouf, with world cinema cross-over hit Untouchable, American rom-com Hope Springs and the critically-acclaimed arthouse picture Tabu all part of the line-up.

With 16 films to choose from, students will be spoilt for choice, and can save more than £70.

What’s more, studious film-goers can even watch the special one-off screenings celebrating Black History Month and Halloween, not to mention the exceptionally popular Mystery Movie night and regular family films, for nothing too.

Film programmer, Chloe Homer, said: ‘We’re the only independent cinema in Gloucester, and with 90 per cent of our film programme offering something different to the local multiplex, we really are something to get excited about.

We want to make young people aware that there’s a different kind of cinema experience out there that is just as, if not more, enjoyable, and encourage them to broaden their cinematic horizons by taking a chance on a film they might not have ordinarily watched.’

Students over the age of 16 can get their fill of the October free films by showing a valid form of student ID at the Guildhall box office.
