Tuesday 4 June 2013

Editor's Choice

Cheltenham foodies will get chance to discover the culinary secrets of The Montpellier Chapter’s chefs at its monthly Cook’s Club.

The Montpellier Chapter in Cheltenham is hosting a new series of monthly events aimed at teaching local foodies how to make expert dishes for their very own lunch… or dinner party, for that matter.

From sizzling the perfect steak to creating delightful bite-sized canapés, The Montpellier Chapter’s monthly Cook’s Club promises to dish-up expert advice from the restaurant’s crack team of chefs.

Held on the first Tuesday of every month, between 4pm and 5pm, the demonstrations promise to be a relaxed affair with the opportunity to socialise, ask any burning questions and learn a few secrets too.

On Tuesday 2 April 2013, the Cook’s Club will be learning everything they need to know about bread – from the importance of accurately weighing ingredients and getting the knack of kneading, to proofing and getting the perfect rise in the oven, you’ll be a home baker before you know it.

Then on Tuesday 7 May 2013, foodies will discover the delights of springtime asparagus and how its unbeatable flavour and freshness can enhance a wealth of dishes, from soups and salads to the traditional Sunday roast.

Just in time for summer, on Tuesday 4 June 2013 there will be a masterclass in succulent strawberries. Whether you’re planning on picking your own, growing your own or buying them from your local grocer, you’ll leave brimming with ideas for classic British summer puds, sure to sweeten those summer soirees.

Please note that the Cook’s Club places are limited, so organisers advise booking well in advance, with a £5 charge per head that can be redeemed in the restaurant.
