Wine Flights at Wesley House in Winchcombe

Wesley House's Wine Flights have been bringing diners from across the county to Winchcombe.

Providing a novel spin on a set menu wine list, Wesley House in Winchcombe is offering its guests the chance to embark on a Wine Flight.

Described as a great way to explore grape varieties, there are three 125ml glasses of wine to enjoy within each ‘flight’, with each glass designed to complement one another well.

With eight Wine Flights on offer, diners can choose to be transported to the sunny climes of Italy, Australia, South Africa, Spain, South America or New Zealand. And, if a celebration is in order, there’s an option for a triple helping of bubbles.

The Flight to Italy costs £9.95 and includes: 2008 Pinot Grigio Malandrino; 2009 Torre Alta Pinot Grigio Rose; and 2008 Montepulciano D’Abruzzo.

The Flight to Australia costs £11.50 and includes: 2005 Boynton Estate Chardonnay; 2008 Peter Lehman Riesling, Eden Valley, Barossa; 2008 Boynton Estate Cabernet Shiraz.

While the Flight to Spain costs £12.95 and includes: 2007 Rioja Blanco Urbina; 2008 Los Arquillos Tempranillo; 2004 Rioja Urbina Crianza, for example.

The Wine Flights were launched at Wesley House over a year ago, but have proven so popular with Winchcombe diners that they are now a firm fixture on the menu.

Starting from £9.95, the well-priced wine lists not only make sampling new tipples a cost-effective choice, but are a great excuse to try something completely new – or forgo the house option altogether.
