Eat like a King at Ellenborough Park, when head chef David Kelman invites locals to try his Welsh entry to this year’s World Culinary Olympics.

Local foodies will have the chance to try some world-class food at Ellenborough Park’s prestigious Beaufort Dining Room on Wednesday 27 June 2012, when executive head chef, David Kelman, will host the first practice run of his entry to the 23rd World Culinary Olympics.

For just £30 a head, members of the public can sample the full menu he will represent Wales with at the culinary championships, being held in Germany in October 2012: a seafood starter, beef main course and a summer pudding, complete with pre-starter canapés and a drink.

Kelman will be overseeing the preparation of the three courses, hoping to lead the Welsh National Culinary Team to victory against tough competition from other competing countries, including England, South Africa, Germany and the USA.

Organisers said that the Welsh chef has been lucky enough to cook for the Queen twice to date, and more recently for prime minister David Cameron in March 2012 as part of St David’s Day celebrations.

They added: ‘David has cooked for Wales in various competitions around the world throughout his career. This is includes winning silver at the American Culinary Classic in Chicago in 2003 and again in 2007, as part of a team of 12 top Welsh chefs where he led on the pastry section.’

So if you fancy a taste of the high-life, book your seat now and dine like a King – or Queen – for one special night.
