Celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal will be at Gloucester Park on Saturday 30 June 2012, aiming to make the world’s biggest ice cream – and Gloucestershire residents and visitors are invited to come along and watch him conjure up his latest culinary creation.
Filming an episode for his new Channel 4 television series, Heston will be looking at Britain’s love affair with ice cream – which is apt, as Gloucester is home to the largest ice cream factory in Europe, Walls.
He is hoping to bring back some nostalgic magic to the city – with members of the public even getting to sample some of his supersized dessert.
From 1pm onwards on Saturday afternoon, Channel 4 will be filming Heston and his team in Gloucester Park making what he hopes to be the world’s biggest ice cream, and organisers are urging people not to arrive too late to miss the big unveil.
Councillor Jennie Dallimore said: ‘This is a great opportunity for our communities to come together for a very special event. It’s not every day you see the making of the world’s biggest ice cream by a Michelin Starred Chef!’
