Create your own ultimate sausage, learn the tricks of the butchery trade and tuck into a succulent sausage supper at Hillworth Farm’s upcoming workshop.

If you’ve ever wondered how your local butcher manages to pack so much flavour into the humble sausage, now’s your chance to learn the tricks of the butchery trade, when Tewkesbury’s Hillworth Farm opens its doors for a special Sausage Making workshop on Friday 28 September 2012.

The picturesque farm, which overlooks the Malvern Hills, is run by husband and wife and eighth generation farmers, Robert and Hellen Thatcher, who aim to make buying their local, high animal welfare, and tender and flavoursome meats as convenient as possible for Gloucestershire carnivores.

Master farmer and butcher Robert will be leading the workshop, guiding locals through the trade secrets of creating succulent sausages, before letting them loose on their own creations, which they an take home with them and share with friends and family.

With fine pork from on-site, an array of spices, herbs and other ingredients provided for the banger-mad locals in attendance, creativity can truly be unleashed, with organisers adding: ‘Ever thought you could do better, with a flavour combination not currently found? Here’s your chance to make the ultimately seasoned sausage!’

The evening will finish with a sausage supper and glass of wine in the farmhouse kitchen, giving the proud students the opportunity to compare and show off their own sausage surprises.
