Fat Toni's opening in Cheltenham

Gloucestershire pizza lovers can now get their Fat Toni's fix in Cheltenham as the independent Italian eatery is setting up shop in town this spring.

Fat Toni’s is finally bringing its famous pizzas to Cheltenham, as the Italian eatery is set to open its first pizzeria in the spa town on Wednesday 19 April 2017.

The independent Italian eatery, run by brothers Darren and Jason Orsi, will launch its Cheltenham outpost with a pop-up takeaway at 4 Regent Street, before its sit-down restaurant opens in two to four weeks’ time.

The Cheltenham opening marks the third location for Fat Toni’s which already has takeaways in Gloucester and Stroud, and has a loyal following that go mad for its hand-stretched sourdough pizzas and often travel to get their fix.

Darren Orsi, manager director, said: ‘We’re very excited about opening in Cheltenham, we’ve been looking for years but the right spot has never really come up. It will also be good to make and sell pizzas to sitting customers as most of our nostalgic Italian pizzeria memories we’ve not been able to replicate completely as a takeaway.

‘We’re also looking forward to marrying up our pizzas with local craft beers and beers from further afield as pizza and beer is the true cultural experience.’

In addition to its pizzas, the sit-down restaurant will offer diners the chance to enjoy an Italian feast as salads, antipastos, and desserts are also set to be on the menu.

During its launch phase, Fat Toni’s Cheltenham will be open from 5pm to 10pm from Tuesday to Sunday.
